Check Moon Valley First ("CMVF," "we," "us") runs checkmvfirst.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site, how we use it and the choices you have.

Information you give us

Newsletter signups. When you subscribe to the Moon Valley Insider, we collect your email address. It is stored with our newsletter provider, Beehiiv, and used to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of every email.
Event registrations. When you register for an event such as the Moon Valley Home Tour, we collect the details you enter (such as your name, email and the date you choose) to manage your registration and send you event updates. Registering also subscribes you to the Moon Valley Insider weekly newsletter, and you can unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of every email.
Emails to us. If you email us, we keep your message and contact information to reply.
Payments. Membership and vendor payments are handled by Square on Square's own pages. We do not see or store your card number.

Information collected automatically

Site analytics. We use GoatCounter to count page views. It does not use cookies or track you across other websites.
Session recording and heatmaps. We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages they view, where they click and how far they scroll. Clarity may record these interactions and uses cookies to do so. We use this only to improve the site. Text you type into forms is masked. Microsoft's privacy statement is at privacy.microsoft.com.
Advertising. We may use advertising tools from companies such as Google and Meta (Facebook and Instagram). These tools use cookies to show CMVF ads to people who have visited our site, including on other websites and apps. You can manage these ads through Google Ad Settings, Facebook Ad Preferences and the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out.
Hosting. Our host, Netlify, keeps standard server logs such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.

How we use information

We use information to send the newsletter, run events, reply to you, understand and improve the site and promote CMVF and our member businesses. We do not sell your personal information.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time.

Links to other sites

Our directory links to member businesses and other websites. Their privacy practices are their own, so please review their policies.

Children

This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
